Call, or send a photo of the damage. Either way the estimate is free and there is no obligation.

A photo is usually enough to tell you whether you are looking at a stain or an etch, and whether it is worth anyone coming out at all.

What happens next

  1. You call, text or email a photo, or send the form
  2. If a photo answers it, you get an answer and no visit. Plenty of the marks people send turn out to be something they can deal with themselves, and we will say so
  3. If it needs looking at, we come out, look at the stone and photograph it. The visit is free, there is no call-out fee and no obligation
  4. The written quote is emailed to you afterwards. Not handed over on the doorstep, so there is nothing to decide on the spot and you can take it to a strata council or an AGM if you need to
  5. Nothing gets added to that quote once work starts without you agreeing to it first

Every job is priced after the stone has been seen, because two surfaces that look identical in a photograph can hide very different damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you travel outside Vancouver?

Yes. We cover Greater Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, including North and West Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, the Tri-Cities, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge, Richmond, Surrey and White Rock, plus Whistler for commercial work. Mention where you are when you get in touch and we will sort the scheduling around it. If you are not sure whether you are in the area, just call and ask.

Is the estimate really free?

Yes, and there is no call-out fee or trip charge either. We come out, look at the stone, and email you a written quote afterwards. There is no obligation to book, and no pressure on the day, which is partly why the quote goes out by email rather than being handed over while we are standing in your kitchen.

Can you quote from a photo?

Not a firm price, and be wary of anyone who offers one. What a photo can do is tell you whether you are looking at a stain or an etch, and whether it is worth anyone coming out at all. That saves a visit in plenty of cases. A photo cannot show how deep damage runs, and depth is most of what sets the price.

How soon can you come out?

It depends on what is running at the time, and larger jobs book further ahead. Call or send the form and we will tell you honestly rather than promising a day we cannot hold. If it is something urgent, like damage before an event or a sale, say so when you get in touch.

What areas of the house do you work on?

Countertops, islands, vanities, shower surrounds, floors, hearths, fireplace surrounds and table tops, plus lobbies and common areas in buildings. If it is natural stone, it is probably something we can look at. What we do not work on is quartz or other engineered surfaces.

Do I need to be there for the visit?

For a home, yes, ideally, because part of the visit is talking through what you want the finish to look like. For a building, it is usually the property manager or a council member rather than every resident. Either way somebody needs to let us in and answer a couple of questions about how the space gets used.
